Everybody idealizes monks. They bring order into a chaotic situation. They help bring calm, where fire is the norm.
On the other hand, Goblins are troublemakers. They lead with chaos. When things don't work, they are happy to throw the playbook out and do the unthinkable. Not systems, but in playing around and finding what might work. (https://thephysicsofstartups.substack.com/p/goblin-mode)
For most of my life, I identified with monks. When things go out of control, I could be relied to bring systems and practices that can help. However, the uncomfortable part is that I enjoy being a li'l goblin. The part of my life I identify as the most fun is when I remember being the goblin. A bit of a chaos maker, often unhinged. Ready to take a flight to the opposite side of the world, just because.
However, life demands that we switch between these. As long as we don't become too identified with either one.
